MCP Student Care Centre is a multicultural classroom with students from various countries of origin. It’s wonderful to have a diversity of cultures within a class. There are a myriad of benefits for students when they are part of a multicultural classroom. Benefits such as:

• A multicultural classroom exposes students to different cultures

• A multicultural classroom teaches multiple perspectives

• A multicultural classroom fosters acceptance and tolerance in a learning environment

Recognising significant festivals of different cultures is an easy and enjoyable way to embrace different cultures.

The Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese New Year day (春节 Chūn Jié, Seollal ,Tết) was on 12 February 2021. The MCP student care centre held a special celebration for our students on this day.

There are some similarities between the three different cultures. All three cultures have an emphasis on the reunion of family during the festival period and children receive a red packet containing money from their seniors.

MCP prepared the traditional new year candies of the three different cultures for our students and explained the origins of the three cultures. Students greeted each other with the three languages and enjoyed the program prepared by our teachers.
